通過觀察，我們不難發(fā)現(xiàn)，以上句子都為了“言簡意賅”而省略了一些成分。根據(jù)句子的結構以及上下文，我們可知：第1句省略了賓語從句，只保留了連詞why；第2句省略了并列句中后一個分句中的謂語；第3句省略了時間狀語從句中的主語和be動詞；第4句省略了引出句型的there be；第5句省略了主語。

★ 動詞不定式中的省略：在同一句話或聯(lián)系緊密的對話里，常把不定式to后內(nèi)容相同的部分省略，只保留to。如：

★ 虛擬條件句中的省略：在虛擬條件句中，如含有had, were, should等時，if可省略，句子倒裝。如：
Should it rain tomorrow, you would have to put off your tour.
★ 賓語從句中的省略：①在賓語從句中，連詞that一般可以省略；但如果是由that引導的兩個或兩個以上的并列的賓語從句，那么只有第一個that可以省略。②由 w
6、hich, when, where, how和why引導的賓語從句，可以全部或部分省略。如：
