  • Unit 6When was it invented?第四課時Section B (1a1e) salty形容詞,意為“咸的;含鹽的”,是由名詞salt加上y構成的,類似的形容詞還有tasty,smelly,sunny,cloudy等 Potato chips were invented by mistake.薯條是被無意中發(fā)明的by mistake意為“錯誤地;無意地”在此短語中mistake要用單數(shù)形式,且前面不能用冠詞拓展】make a mistake犯錯誤mistake.for.把錯認為 The customer was happy in the end.最后顧客滿意了in the end意為“最后,最終”,相當于at last/finallyeg:They were out of danger in the end.最后他們脫險了拓展】in the end不能與of連用,可放在句首,也可放在句末at the end of.后接地點名詞,表示“在的盡頭”;后接時間名詞,表示“在結束時”eg:at the end of the road/month在這條路/這個月的盡頭by the end of意為“在以前,到為止”,常與將來時態(tài)或過去完成時態(tài)連用。
