Learn to summarize the information got from the text and rearrange all the useful information. 2. 語言目標(biāo)(language aim) Important words and phrases: contact, shuttle-submarines, destination, be essential for, sensor 二, 教學(xué)重難點(diǎn)(Teaching important points) 1. Talk about the possibilities of living under the sea 三, 教學(xué)方法(teaching method) a. Fast and careful reading. b. Asking-and-answering activity to check Ss’ understanding. c. Individual, pair or group work to finish each task. d. Discussion. 四, 教具準(zhǔn)備(teaching aids) A puter, a projector 五, 教學(xué)步驟(teaching procedures) Step I Warming up 1. Lead in the topic by discussing the possibilities of living under the sea. Encourage Ss to use their imaginations. Step II Reading 1. Get the Ss to read the text quickly and get the general idea. Give Ss a few minutes and then ask them to pick out the four advantages of living under the sea. 2. Give Ss a few minutes to go through the second, third and forth paragraphs and get some details. Discuss the problem might e across and how to solve the problems. 3. Get Ss to go through the whole passage again and finish the chart on the advantages of living under the sea. 4. Get Ss to listen to the interview of the designer of the city. Find out the two problems they had solved. h Step IV Follow up activity Set a scene for the Ss: the pany is going to held press conference and an exhibition. Encourage Ss to design a special postcard which will draw visitors attention and provide some useful information.
