Too much TVwatching can harm children's ability to learn and even reduce their chances of getting a college degree, new studies suggest in the latest effort to examine the effects of television on children.
One of the studies looked at nearly 400 northern California thirdgraders. Those with TVs in their bedrooms scored about eight points lower on math and language arts tests than children without bedroom TVs.
A second study, looking at nearly 1, 000 grownups in New Zealand, found lower education levels among 26yearolds who had watched lots of TV during childhood. But the results don't prove that TV is the cause and don't rule out that already poorly motivated youngsters (年輕人) may watch lots of TV.
Their study measured the TV habits of 26yearolds between ages 5 and 15.Those with college degrees had watched an average of less than two hours of TV per weeknight during childhood, compared with an average of more than 2 hours for those who had no education beyond high school.
In the California study, children with TVs in their rooms but no computer at home scored the lowest, while those with no bedroom TV but who had home computers scored the highest.
While this study does not prove that bedroom TV sets caused the lower scores, it adds to accumulating findings that children shouldn't have TVs in their bedrooms.

2.B as當(dāng)……
lose oneself in thought/sb be lost in thought意為“某人陷入深思”。
4.C 考查not until的強(qiáng)調(diào)結(jié)構(gòu)。去掉it was 和第二個(gè)空,句子依然完整,由此可以判斷這是一個(gè)強(qiáng)調(diào)結(jié)構(gòu),所以第二個(gè)空應(yīng)該選擇that,由此可以判斷C項(xiàng)正確。
5.A keep a record of記錄下;hold a record保持一項(xiàng)紀(jì)錄;make a record錄制唱片。

I was able to fully appreciate之前,故用過去完成時(shí)態(tài)。
第二個(gè)空用be impressed with/by。
Peter is worried that he might lose his job。
