Dear Diana
Lest week, my father brought a new mobile phone and I asked Da Wei to see it after school. But my father has warned me not to use a mobile phone for nothing important because he thinks it wastes money and time for a student to use a mobile phone. I can only use it for calling my parents. He thinks that if I use a mobile phone, I’ll bee a bad, lazy student.
Well, my dad was away in another city, so we decided to try his new mobile phone. We took it out and called our friends. When we finished, we put it into my father’s drawer. We made quite sure my father didn’t notice anything.
But when my dad came back last night, he was really angry. The mobile phone wasn’t working because it had a virus!
But I didn’t tell him about our calling by his new mobile phone.
Now I feel terrible. It’s going to be expensive to mend it. Should I tell him about it? Should I offer to pay?
Yours,
Steve
Dear Steve,
Oh dear! You’ve made two mistakes. First, you used your dads new mobile phone when he told you not to. Second, you didnt tell him about the virus. Yes, you must tell him immediately. If you tell him the truth, hell be angry with you, but at least youll prove how honest you are.
Then I think you should offer to mend it. But you shouldnt use your pocket money —after all, your parents gave you that money. If you offer to do some housework around the home, or maybe help him with his work, hell realise that youre truly sorry.
Oh, and next time, play football with Da Wei!
Best wished,
Diana
■Close down by writing a letter of problems
Dear Diana,
I have many hobbies, such as growing vegetables in my room, looking after my dog at night. The hobbies make me both happy and unhappy. As I grow up I have developed too many interests. But I have no interest in my school work! As a result, I bee a unsuccessful young student. I like playing badminton, but I don’t like P.E. lessons. I am sure if I don’t write to you. I will be a failure. I will be useless to the society in the future, bring. Its difficult for me to write this letter. I don’t like English writing. I spend all our time on my hobbies. What should I do?
Your,
Wang Hongqin
