Experts express their approval and worries as well. Generally, I am in favor of reading on WeChat. To begin with, in an age of information explosion, limited libraries in our communities fail to satisfy citizens need for updates, so reading on WeChat makes up for the lack of public libraries to a certain extent. With so much updated information on WeChat, we can stay well-informed. Second, with the convenience the Internet and the smartphone bring to us, we are able to know instantly what is happening around the world. Moreover, due to its flexibility, we can take up where we have stopped reading whenever we have spare time. Therefore, it is possible for us to finish reading some novel or classic literature bit by bit. In short, it is safe to conclude that reading on WeChat is and will be an important source of information and knowledge. Possible version 2: 反對A recent survey indicates that Chinese read on WeChat for over 40 minutes daily mostly focusing on news and friends updates. Experts express their approval and worries as well. I tend to take the “Against” side for the following reasons. Firstly, there is a tendency that people depend on WeChat and spend too much time on it. It is harmful to everyone, especially students, who are more likely to become addicted. Secondly, WeChat is full of forwarded information, the accuracy of which is doubtful. Spreading this kind of information irresponsibly may mislead others or even cause chaos. In addition, since the main purpose of WeChat is entertainment and web browsing, readers will get distracted easily. Therefore, it is not beneficial in shaping good reading habits, especially for young readers. In short, though the benefits of WeChat are beyond doubt, people should consider its negative effects as well. 聽力錄音文字稿:(Text 1) W: Shall I take a taxi?M: You must be new here. The cinema is just two blocks away. You dont even need to take a bus.(Text 2) M: Where shall we eat tonight, Dannys or Browns?W: Weve been eating out the whole week. Actually Im considering preparing some traditional Chinese food tonight.(Text 3) M: Did you hear that Mr. Green recently ran into a girl with his car? She was hurt quite badly.W: Thats terrible! How did that happen?M: He drank too much at his friends birthday party, so on his way home he wasnt able to stop his car quickly enough when he saw her crossing a street.(Text 4) W: I cannot remember the date for handing in the term paper.M: Its October 16th.W: Oh, my! Thats only ten days from now. Im dead.M: Im just joking. We still have twenty days before we have to hand it in.(Text 5) W: So what do you think of this dress? Does the color suit me?M: Its OK. You must have lost some weight. It looks too big on you.W: Then Ill choose another one. Lets have a look somewhere else.M: OK. There is a “for sale” sign over there.(Text 6) W: Dr. Richard, when did you have the idea of helping cancer patients?M: Actually, I didnt have any idea when I left high school at the age of 18. Then I found a job in a small medical lab. I never dreamed I would help save peoples lives.W: Then what caused your change?M: I love lab work, so I went back to school. After ten years, I got my PhD. Then I worked at a medical company, where I began the research on a medicine to treat lung cancer patients. Now I have been here for 8 years. For me, a drug saves more than life. It can save a family.W: I couldnt agree more with you.(Text 7) W: I heard that Alisa is leaving the US. Is it true?M: Yes. Shell leave this Friday. W: Thats only four days from now. Thats pretty soon. What about throwing a surprise party for her before she leaves?M: Thats a really great idea. When shall we do that?W: I can make a cake tomorrow. How about the day after tomorrow? M: Thats fine with me, but are you sure you can make a cake? Its not easy.W: Dont worry. Its a piece of cake for me. I worked in a bakery for two years when I was in my early twenties. I made hundreds of cakes there.M: Thats really amazing. (Text 8) W: Welcome to our program. Today we have invited Fred Wocson, a driving instructor with over 20 years of experience, to talk to us about learning to drive. Well, Fred, do you think its getting expensive to learn to drive these days?M: Well, it depends. If you come to a private instructor like me, its going to be a bit less expensive than going to a big school. The thing is, most people have usually heard of the big schools by the Internet or newspapers so they go there. My first customer is one of my friends, so I usually get my customers through personal connections. W: Does that mean you have to try hard to get customers? M: Not now. When I started, I had to work hard and taught one-to-one, but at the moment I am fully booked, and my prices are quite competitive. W: No wonder you have so many customers.(Text 9) M: Er . Sarah, Ive finished with Mr. Gordon now. Do you think you could bring me up-to-date on the arrangements for the Italian trip?W: Certainly, Mr. Smith.M: Right. Take a seat. Now my first meeting is when?W: Your first meeting is on Monday the 21st at 9 am with Dr. Thompson in Milan.M: OK, so can I fly out early Monday morning?W: Well, there is a flight to Linate Airport which leaves at six thirty London time and gets in at eight thirty Italian time.M: Yeah, but that leaves me only thirty minutes to clear customs in getting to the city center and it means I have to check in by five thirty, which means leaving home at about four fifteen.W: Im afraid so.M: Hmm . Whats the program for the rest of that day?W: At eleven, youre seeing Mr. Jeff in our branch office and then youll have lunch with Gavin from ABC Company.M: Good, that sounds fine. What about the afternoon?W: Well, at three thirty, youre seeing our sales representative there and then youre free till evening.M: I see. I seem to remember that Im having a dinner with someone from Bergamo. W: Thats right, and Mrs. Betty from SAP Industries at eight.(Text 10) This is my fifth day at the summer camp. Life isnt exactly what I expected. We have to get up early to make our beds before our teacher comes to inspect. After breakfast, we have some free time. Yesterday morning I went down to the nearby stream to fish, but the only thing I caught was a tree branch. Great catch, huh? In the afternoon, there are different activities like horseback riding and hiking. Theyre fun, but nothing new for me. In the evening, everyone is assigned a different task to get dinner ready. Yesterday, I was in charge of preparing the hot dogs, but I accidentally dropped them in the fire. The other kids are still laughing at me because of that. The best part of the camp is at night, when we sit around a campfire and tell stories, although one night while trying to find more sticks for the fire, I almost got lost in the forest. Well, at least camp is almost over, and we will go back at about 8 am the day after tomorrow.
