1 Set the scene
1) Hold up a book in one hand and ask What is this? S: it is a book.
Now put the book on a desk. Make sure that all the children can see it. Say the book is on the desk.
Write the sentence on the board. Point to the word on and explain its meaning.
Hold up the same book then place it behind the door Say the book is behind the door
2) model the dialog
Hold up a red pen place it on the desk and Ask Is the pen on the desk? Yes it is.
place the pen behind the door Now ask is the pen under the desk.? No, it isn’t.
Now place the pen on front of the door and repeat the question. Repeat the procedure for on. In. behind and in front of.
3) talk about the story
Have the children open their books at pages 38 and 39 ask these question about the pictures:
