Women from all nations have made outstanding contributions to the world; some of them are excellent scient
3、ists, artists, politicians or athletes. Therere so many great women in the world. Ss have learnt about many great women not only from schoolbooks, but also from other information. So Ss are familiar with this topic and it can stimulate their interest. This lesson is the first period of this unit. It
4、 has three parts: warming-up, listening and speaking.Warming-up uses the pictures of four famous women from all over the world to lead to the topic of this unitGreat women. Through the discussion of three questions, a group of information about great women was formed in Ss mind. Ss can use it to und
5、erstand the functions of women in society correctly. The part can activate Ss memories, obtain a good effect, and also improve Ss speaking ability.Listening is a dialogue about a photograph. Alice introduces her old school friends to Lily. This part designs two exercises: filling the blanks and comp
