【課文講解】
1、The 'taxi' is a small Swiss aeroplane called a 'Pilatus Porter'.
called a ‘Pilatus Porter’是過去分詞短語,作aeroplane的定語。一般過去分詞短語作定語時(shí)要放在所修飾的名詞/代詞之后,而一個(gè)單獨(dú)的分詞作定語時(shí)則往往放在所修飾的名詞/代詞前面。
He landed in a deserted car park.

一般過去時(shí)往往強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作本身,而現(xiàn)在完成時(shí)則表示始于過去并持續(xù)到現(xiàn)在的動(dòng)作或表示過去不確定 的時(shí)間發(fā)生過的并與現(xiàn)在有某種聯(lián)系的動(dòng)作。

Refuse and Deny
refuse to do sth. 拒絕做

deny doing sth. / deny that +從句否認(rèn)(指控、做過某事等)
The secretary denies that she has stolen the letter.
當(dāng)refuse 作為及物/不及物動(dòng)詞表示“拒絕接受”時(shí),不可與deny混用;當(dāng)refuse 作為及物動(dòng)詞表示“拒
絕給予、拒絕要求”時(shí),它與deny可以互相替換。

Bring,Take與Fetch
bring v. 從某處將某物“帶來”,離說話人越來越近

fetch v. 去某地將某物“取來”,是個(gè)雙程動(dòng)作,去了再來(雙向動(dòng)作)
Please fetch me a glass of water.
Very and Too
very adv. 很,非常(very描述狀況,不涉及后果)
I arrived very late but I caught the train.
too adv. 太,過于(too表示“太……”,以至于引起某種后果)
I arrived too late and I missed the train.
