Revise what each colour represents by matching the colours on the left with what they represent on the right (on P28). 2. How many types can colours be divided into? To consolidate the use of colours in the daily life. Step Three Read and answer (Part A1) 1. Read the notes about Mrs. Rainbow’s Colour Therapy. 2. Answer the questions (1). Remember some useful expressions. Remind students of some useful expressions. Step Four Listen, read and fill in the blanks. (Part A2) 1. Fill in the blanks with the information you’ve got from the note. 2. Listen and fill in the rest blanks (if it is possible you can also give them some questions to help them understand better) (1). What does Mrs. Rainbow use colours to do? She uses colours to help people change their moods and improve their lives. (2). How long has she been doing this? She has been doing this since she left college. (3). What does she use to help others in her therapy? She often use special oils in her therapy and the oils have different colours and smells. (4). How will she help me if I can’t sleep well? She would ask me to think of the colour white. It can help me calm. And she would ask me to close my eyes and relax. Then she would take some white oil and rub in into my skin. (5). What other advice can she offer to others? She can also help people choose the right colour to wear. 3. Useful expressions. Now Millie and her cousin are discussing what colours to wear. Listen to their conversation and try to answer the questions. (1). What are Andy and Millie talking about? (2). What shirt does Millie advice Andy to wear? (3). What will Andy wear? (4). What does Millie think of it? 3. Read the dialogue together and then say something about how to give advice to others and how to express preferences. giving advice What / How about doing…? Why don’t you do…? Why not do …?
