Ability aims : Be able to finish the listening exercises and make conversations according to the listening. Show some pictures about chores. Ask 3-5 students to talk about the pictures 3. Show more pictures and help the students learn the new words and phrases. 1a Ask the students to look at the picture on Page 17 and plete 1a in pairs. 1b Ask the students to read the Chores Column firstly, then play the tape and check the answers. 1c Ask the students to make conversations about the chores in 1a. 1. Ask the students to look at the picture in 2a and talk about who they are. Play the recording 2 or 3 times if necessary, then check the answers. 2. Ask the students to read the instructions and plete the listening practice in 2b, then check the answers. Ask two or three pairs to read the model conversation in 2c to the class. Then the students do pairwork to make different conversations between Peter and his father. 1. Let the students answer the question : What will Tony have to do? 2. Play the recording for the students to listen and repeat. 3. Ask the students to find out some useful expressions and language points and talk about them in groups. 4. Ask the students to role-play the conversation. Greet to the teacher. Talk about the pictures using the new words. Learn more new words and take notes carefully. Share their answers. Read the phrases and try to remember them and listen to the tape to do the listening exercises. Make conversations. Read the instructions and plete the listening practice in 2a. Listen again. Draw lines to the reasons in the chart in 2a. Mke conversations between Peter and his father. Read the conversation individually and find the answer. Read by the recorder. Underline the useful expressions. Role-play the conversation in pairs. Remember the new words and expressions. To introduce Ss to the forst unit goal: make polite requests. To help Ss recognize the target language in natural speech. To give Ss practice in making polite requests in everyday conversations. To introduce Ss to the second unit goal :ask for permission .To help Ss recognize the language structure used to ask for permission.
